START PLANNING YOUR NEW ZEALAND EXPERIENCE
The first step is to talk with me via a video call so that I can learn more about you and what you expect from your New Zealand experience.
This call also helps me understand if an experience in New Zealand is right for you so in some ways, it’s an interview, but a friendly one! There is no cost for this.
We will identify the ideal combination of school and region and then proceed with the application process.
The schools I choose to work with apply a quota based on nationality, and most take a maximum of five Italians per term so it’s often important to book your place as early as you can.
I will liaise with the school or schools you have identified and, if they accept your registration, I will organise your visa and help with flights and all the other details to make the process smooth and stress-free.
When you fly to New Zealand, you can choose either to fly alone or on the same flight as me (there is a fee of 300 euros in this case). We generally fly from Milan or Florence to Auckland and then you will either connect to a domestic flight (usually a maximum of one hour) or you will be met by a representative from your school. In many cases, your host family may even be there to meet you and give you a warm New Zealand welcome.
You will usually arrive around three days before school starts, and, as specified by the Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021, all schools have a programme to help international students assimilate.
